Chapter Five - Get over it

'Don't turn around
I'm sick and I'm tired of your face
Don't make this worse
You've already gone and got me mad
It's too bad I'm not sad
It's casting over
It's just one of those things
You'll have to get over it'

It had been over 3 years since Robyn and Taylor had their affair. Things changed drastically for Robyn. Her and Mia were currently on their way to America were they had a meeting with a record label to see if they will sign Robyn to a contract. Mia would be her publicist and Manager. Both girls were incredibly excited as they stepped out onto LA soil.
‘This is it babe’ said Mia taking out her ray bands with a grin of excitement spread over her face.
‘No going back now hun’ Robyn nudged as she linked her arm with Mia as they hailed a cab.
The Hanson brothers were at the peak point of their careers. They had sold a million albums and were starting their new album at Mercury Studios in LA.
‘We’ve got some girls coming in to record a few songs before you have your time in the studio, they should be here within the hour’ said Mr Armstrong who was head of Mercury industries and was very proud of it.
--
‘Here we are, Mercury Studios. Hope they will go for us Mia. Im so nervous’ said Robyn opening the massive door into a nice cool air conditioned room.
‘Shh, it will be amazing!! Erm yes we’re here to record a few tracks for Mr Armstrong’ said Mia handing their id and forms they received to the overpaid secretary .
Both the girls were lead to the recording studio, unaware of what or who they were going to encounter with. The door opened for them as they walked into the room and both stopped in their paths as three heads turned to look at them.
‘Mia?..Robyn?’ Zac said squinting to try and recognise them. ‘I cant believe this! What are you doing here!’ He said running up to them hugging them both. Ike came up to them and conservatively shook their hands saying ‘good to see you again, Im guessing your here to record for Armstrong’ he had defiantly grown up even more since 3 years ago. His hair was almost all shaved off and he had a goatie. Zacs hair was even more wavy and he still had that amazing smile, he also matured on his face. ‘Yes we’re here to get Robyn signed. About time if you ask me, we need this break, don’t we Robyn?’ Said Mia, ecstatic to see the Hanson’s again. She got no reply. As she looked she saw Robyn and Taylor both standing their staring at each other for a good few seconds until Taylor perked up and said ‘Hello Robyn.’
She replied ‘Hey Tay’ a little smile came up on her face but was quickly washed away as she turned to the others and began giving them hugs, all but Taylor.
‘Shall we get recording?’ said Robyn as she headed towards the machines and began to prepare.
Taylor analysed Robyn as she set up for her to sing. Her hair had grown longer and changed a lighter shade of brown. She wore fitted skinny jeans with lace up boots with a Hollister hoodie and a black blazer. She looked so smart and cool. He noticed she got a tattoo on her lower back as she reached over to grab some blank cd’s. It was a blue and black butterfly which was placed perfectly in between her Venus dimples. Ike and Zac decided to help Mia when Robyn entered the sound booth to start singing her songs, which she wrote herself.
As she entered the sound booths she took one look at Taylor who was sitting with his canned coke drink watching her. He looked good she thought to herself. His hair had gone darker and slightly shorter. He still wore those ridiculous chokers, but his white tank top made up for it as it showed off his even more toned up body. She slammed the door shut to make a statement that she was not impressed with the situation. Taylor listened intently to her lyrics as she sang her song ‘Get Over it’
Slipping down a slide
I did enjoy the ride
Don't know what to decide
You lied to me
You looked me in the eye
It took me by surprise
Now are you gratified
You cried to me

La, la, la, la, la

[Chorus:]
Don't turn around
I'm sick and I'm tired of your face
Don't make this worse
You've already gone and got me mad
It's too bad I'm not sad
It's casting over
It's just one of those things
You'll have to get over it

When I was feeling down
You'd start to hang around
And then I found your hands all over me
And that was out of bounds
You filthy rotten hound
It's badder than it sounds, believe me
Robyn wrote this song the day Taylor left London those three years ago. She would catch his eye when she sang certain words to the song, and she knew he realised this song was about him. He felt hurt but a sudden urge to go kiss her and tell her he was sorry. She got it right in one take. She was getting hot and flustered knowing Taylor was watching. As soon as she finished the touch-ups she whispered ‘I need some air’ and she ran out of the room. Brushing past Taylor her scent caught his nose and all the memories of her came back to him. He swiftly followed her after being told to by everyone else. As Taylor left he saw Robyn running down the hall. He chased her screaming ‘ROBYN! COME BACK, PLEASE?’ She ignored him and ran ahead, faster then she ever ran before. She turned a corner and hid behind a wall. Taylor ran on ahead passing her, not noticing. As he ran out of ear shot she sang to herself with tears streaming down her face ‘Don’t turn around, im sick and im tired of your face, Don’t make this worse, you’ve already gone and got me mad.’ She realised all the feelings for Tay were still there. She wanted him again, and hated herself for it.
Hours past and still no sign of Robyn, Mia was getting worried and decided to look for her. Taylor sat there with his head buried in his hands when his brother told him some news.
‘We’re signing Robyn on to sing with us bro. She’s good and will to wonders to our band’ Said Ike trying to make Taylor see sense.
‘Im not saying she isn’t Ike! I agree fully that she will make Hanson more brilliant. But she wont speak, look or even listen to me! How is it going to work?’ Taylor said looking up at his brothers worried.
‘WE’RE WHAT?’ Said Robyn as her best friend told her the same news.
‘It’s either this or we go home, Armstrong thinks it will work and a solo career is not good for your image now, I tried convincing him but he won’t budge Robyn!’ Mia said trying to get Robyn to see where she is coming from.
‘But me and Tay? Both lead singers, it’s not going to work Mia! Not at all!’ Robyn said putting her head in her hands.
‘You two are just going to have to start getting along, do this for me please! This is all I have in the world, if I go back home i’ll have to work in Waitrose or something! Please babe’ Said Mia, she looked desperate. Robyn agreed she would talk to Taylor and sort everything out so they’re civil again.
Taylor heard a knocking on the door of the studio, he was alone as his brothers left for the day back to their condo.
‘come in?’ Tay said not looking to see who it was that entered, he was busy sorting out song lyrics to their new album.
‘It’s me’ Robyn said worried what Taylor’s reaction would be. She walked in closing the door and locking it behind her. Tay looked around and clasped eyes with Robyn’s. He realised this was it, finally they were going to confront each other. He closed his note pad and turned his swivel chair towards her.
‘I’m sorry about the way i reacted today, it’s not fair on everyone else...especially you Tay’ she gave him a sorrowful look, hoping he will be kind back.
‘I’m just here for the music Robyn. You don’t have to apologise to me’ Tay said swishing his hair back, resting one arm on the desk, acting oblivious to the situation.
‘So it’s okay to work together then?’ Robyn said, shocked at his last comment.
‘As long as its work, and only work, yeh, I’m game. Taylor said looking away and then looking back at her after he finished talking. She nodded and began to leave. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow then?’ she said realising, Taylor didn’t and defiantly doesn’t want her anymore.
‘Yeah, Later’ Tay said returning to his work not giving her a second look. As he heard the door close a gush of air came from his mouth. He put his hand on his head and realised what he just done. He totally made her feel worthless to him. Only a business partner, nothing else. He knew it was for the best that they no longer had to feel awkward about their feelings. It doesn’t help that every word that came out of Taylor in that confrontation was a lie. He didn’t want their relationship to be just about work. He wanted more. So much more. He got out his wallet and past all the 50 dollar bills he had he scrounged out a tattered picture. It was him and Robyn by London bridge, both looking into each other’s eyes. She looked so beautiful to him. Her winning smile and her amazing breasts. He thought back to when they had sex and immediately got aroused. He was just glad that for the next 6 months he will be spending every day with her, and if he’s lucky he will go on tour with her. He opened his notepad and began to write a song for her. He hoped it would let her forgive him for everything that happened to them so far.
Tell me that you love me
You say you don't but you don't know

See you in my dreams
And you are so fair
I tried so hard to find you
But you were never there
You're my dream girl
And none can compare

You're always with me
In our kingdom far away
You will be her majesty
And together we will reign
You're my dream girl
It'll always be that way

Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Yeah
Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Yeah
